The PATH to PICKLEBALL COURTS IN PINE CITY
Community COURTS PROJECT
Pickleball has been part of the Pine City community for more than a decade. What began around 2008 as a small group of friends playing wherever space could be found—from community education gyms and pole barns to local civic spaces—quickly grew into a strong and welcoming group of players. Over the years, the Pine City Area Pickleball community continued to grow, fueled by the sport’s unique ability to bring people together across generations while providing fun, accessible physical activity. Despite the enthusiasm and growing participation, Pine City remained one of the few communities with an active pickleball community but no dedicated courts.
Recognizing both the need and the opportunity, the Pine City Area Pickleball group formally established Pine City Area Pickleball (PCAP) as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in November 2024 to begin raising funds and advocating for local courts. With support from the community and a shared belief that pickleball can strengthen connections, improve health, and expand recreational opportunities in Pine City, PCAP is now working in partnership with the city to bring dedicated courts to life.

Pine City Area Pickleball in partnership with Pine City Community Education is offering playing opportunities for adults on Friday evenings at the Pine City Elementary School. WE WELCOME YOU!

ADULT PLAYERS ONLY PLEASE
COST: $5.00 per class. Players new to the sport of pickleball may request two free classes. Informal instruction is provided.
All equipment is provided. We now have a variety of high end demo paddles for participants to use thanks to a Partner's in Healthy Living grant.
Dates & times: All classes are on Friday evenings, when the Pine City Schools are in session.
- 6 to 7 PM | Low intensity play with an emphasis on welcoming new players. Players who are brand new to the sport of pickleball are eligible for two free classes.
- 7 to 9 PM | Open to all level of play. Players are encouraged to group themselves on the courts with players at their level or play down so that all players on the court have the opportunity to enjoy their time on the courts.
Reserve your times to play using the free app PlayTime Scheduler. You will find us listed under USA, MN, and lastly Pine City Area.
- Class caps at 18 players.
- Priority will be given to those registering in advance using PlayTime Scheduler PlayTime does allow you to register an adult guest.
- Walk-ins will be taken when space allows.
- All players are required to sign an annual liability waiver.

Many of our friends, family, as well as ourselves have accumulated things over the years that aren’t needed or used anymore. This is an opportunity to turn those donated items into Pickleball Courts!
Donations of preferably larger ticket items, items in working order, items sitting in basements, attics, closets that you would be happy to rid.
Items like Cars, Paddle boards, Boats, Grills, leaf blower, log splitters, snow mobiles, welders, sports equipment, hockey sticks, hunting tree stand, foosball table, sanders, power tools, trailers, lawn mowers, bikes, boats, furniture, food processor, tents, kayaks, musical instruments, snow blower, furniture, trailers, hammocks, pac and plays, paddle boats, plastic storage sheds, you get the idea

Our goal is to establish 6 to 8 high-quality pickleball courts in the Pine City area, enhancing local recreation and sports opportunities. While we prioritize Pine City for this initiative, it is important to note that Pine City is not our only option.
